Something about Tuesdays makes me angry… I don’t know what it is. Maybe because it’s such a nothing day.
Nothing screams ANGRY TUESDAY more than the music you listened to throughout your high school years. For me DEFTONES was pretty high up on the list: Angry, angst ridden, yet soothing.
I was gonna leave it at that until I read about DEFTONES bass player CHI CHENG and the current state he is in. In November 2008 Chi and his sister Mae were in a car crash. The car, travelling at 100KpH hit another car and rolled three times. Chi, riding in the car without a seatbelt suffered severe head trauma leaving him in a coma. A large part of his skull was removed and brain damage has left him in a minimally conscious state where his responsiveness is inconsistent and erratic.
Three years on and his close family, Friends and supporters have raised over $17,000 for his treatment. His condition improves slowly and they need $500,000. You can check out his progress and add messages of support through http://oneloveforchi.com/
Deftones play their next benefit for their fallen comrade in their hometown of Sacramento in June with long time friend and fill in bass player Sergio Vega.
So sad, if you’re in a car, wear a fucking seatbelt.
